After being selected into "The 100 most interesting Hungarian innovations" book in September, we are proud to announce that according to the Jury's decision Stringbike has won the "TOP10 Inno" Award.

The lightest and smoothest solution to avoid early wear of shoulder joints. Using lever drive with StringDrive© Technology is the most ergonomic way to ride your wheelchair. There is no need to force your arms backward while accelerating the hand rim. The force peaks during the regular movement cause irreversible joint wear and constant pain during the years. StringChair is a regular wheelchair with a simple, elegant and unique lever drive solution.

StringHandbike's unique push&pull drive system allows us to create a special handlebar. We have transformed StringHandbike to the world's first ever handbike what can be operated by people being able to use only one hand. We and those many with whom we interviewed have never met before a similar one-handed solution. StringHanbike now can be used by people with stroke, amputation, blocked arm, or other conditions keeping many people from using handbikes in mobility, rehabilitation, and leisure activities.

We have been invited to participate in the new Telekom ad. This short clip is about the generation of challengers, who question the current status quo, who are the motors of our rapidly changing world. "The now generation can reach and change everything". We believe this is what Stringbike is about. Doesn't matter what happened in the past for 150 years. Great ideas need to be spread around the world!

StringHandbike became very popular among our test users and customers. It's an ideal equipment for mobility, rehabilitation and leisure activities even for hundreds of disabled people, who are unable to use the classic, chain driven handbikes. Now we are proud to introduce the newest model of StringHandbike, for those with weaker upper body (eg. Scoliosis, Muscular Atrophy)

Congratulations to a great sequel. Stringbike appeared briefly in the Blade Runner movie and we provided 5 Stringbikes to the staff for the duration of the filming. Filmmakers were looking for futuristic bikes. Great cooperation, and a great movie!

Starting the world tour in Bloomfield Science Museum Jerusalem.
Stringbikes are the part of an exhibition on bicycle, celebrating 200 years to this wonderful invention. The exhibition starts in Jerusalem June 2017, than it will travel to Universum in Bremen in 2018 (Germany), Citta della Scienza in Napels in 2019 (Italy), Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, USA and will finish its 5 years tour in the year 2022 in Canada Science and Technology Museum, Ottawa, Canada.

InStyle Magazine organised a "Cycling Chic on the red capret" event again in 2016. Sándor Lakatos is one of the freshest and most extravagant fashion designer in Budapest. The "Stringbike Black Storm" fits perfectly to his "minimalist black & white" style. Meet him in Paris on the Fashion Week!

We are very proud about being invited by Zengő Motorsport to the paddock of the FIA World Touring Car Championship Race of Hungary 2016. In exchange, we designed a special bike for this occasion to support the boys on the race track.

We couldn't go empty handed to the awarding ceremony and proudly took with us our Black Pearl model.

The Black Pearl model made quite an impression

After the ceremony the Hungarian Minister of National Economy Mihály Varga was so impressed by the bike that he decided to try it out and rode it.

Stringbike was awarded the title “Startup of the Month” for December 2015, by the Hungarian Ministry of National Economy. The state award was handed over by Mihály Varga, Minister of National Economy to Tamás Szebényi, managing director of Stringbike.

About the award

The Ministry of National Economy founded the “Award for Successful Enterprises” in 2013. The objective of the award is to honor, stimulate and provide publicity for those business entities, SMEs and budding enterprises active in Hungary which are contributing to Hungarian economic growth and can serve as role models for leading an enterprise to success.

We launched the S^line Stringbike featuring a modern straight frame with shorter wheelbase made from high quality alloy. Its reduced weight of 10,5 kg makes it perfect for commuters, city and road bikers.

Single speed with 19 gears

Bearing in mind the purity of the new bicycle, the gear shifter was removed and replaced with the lightest solution in order to change gears. To achieve the best performance, the rider can adjust the pulley manually up and down before riding the bike. This direct solution provides the benefit of the integrated 19 gears of Stringbike.

Bikes dominated the Hungaroring racing circuit for 24 hours, fighting for the trophy of Best Individual Biker and Best Biker Team. Stringbike had the youngest team, winning the youth category, and finishing 10^th overall.

RAAM Stringbike shines again.

Our team used the RAAM (Race Across America) Stringbike 2012 model. 800 km, 168 laps, faultless performance.

Brian Cookson, the president of United Cyclists International (UCI), visited Budapest to support the rebuilding of the more than 100 year old Velodrom track for the 2024 Olympic Summer Games. Velodrom is an almost forgotten relic from Hungary’s golden years of bicycle track racing.

Fitting souvenir

Mr. Cookson met Hungarian Prime Minister Mr. Orban, and was also presented with a StringBike.

Two venture capital companies, V3 Partners - with offices in Hungary and China - and Szechenyi Venture Capital Fund - a Budapest based state owned fund – completed an investment agreement with Stringbike Ltd.

Focus on the Asian and USA markets

The new investors will support the company to develop the Asian and USA markets. Starting new product lines, such as Handbikes in the near future. Stringbike will continue to expand the world patented innovation of StringDrive in its traditional markets and market segments.

Our unique bike worked very well and Szőnyi could advance higher than the expected average speed. Hungarian biker had an excellent race on the longest and the most grueling bicycle race in the world - Race Across America (RAAM). Stringbike performed faultlessly.

Reliability of stringbike proven

The only complaint was the immense heat. After 11 trying days of racing Mr. Szőnyi finished 14^th and successfully proved the reliability of Stringbike.

It’s one of those unique inventions that takes something we already use and simply makes it better and way cooler.
